What's the format of tournement?

Red Bull Tetris® begins with a single-player Qualifier Phase on mobile from June 6 through to October 29th. The top players will be invited to play 1vs1 on desktop in the second phase, the National Finals. The winners of the National Finals will advance to the World Final, where the final game will be played on drones and the Red Bull Tetris® Winner will be crowned.

When and where are the qualifiers, national final and world final?

Qualifiers The Global Tournament kicks off on June 6th as part of the celebration of World Tetris day. In Sweden, closing date is October 29th. Qualifiers are played online and on-site at Universities in Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm, Linköping, Växjö, Göteborg, Lund. Dates to be confirmed. National Finals The Swedish National Final will be held on the 29th of November during Dreamhack in Stockholm. Where: Stockholmsmässan in Stockholm. Adress: Mässvägen 1, 125 30 Älvsjö. Time to be confirmed. Finalists will get a weekend pass to Dreamhack. Everyone at Dreamhack can watch the final live. World Final Taking place from December 11-13 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Once you've completed your first game of Tetris, you will be presented with a form. Submit your details using the form during the qualifer phase to be added to your national leaderboard. If you're not happy with your initial score, you can keep playing until you're satisfied. From there, if you advance to the national final, you will receive a mail that will inform you of the success!

Who can particpate?

Players must be 18 years of age or older. The tournament is open only to residents of participating countries and/or regions. Additional restrictions, such as age or local laws, may apply. For a full list of eligible locations and more details you may need, please see the Terms & Conditions.

Don’t forget to register your score after your first game – it’s a key step in competing for a spot in the National Final, and maybe even the World Final in Dubai!

How do I move a Tetrimino left or right?

Slide your finger left or right on the screen to move a Tetrimino left or right in the playfield.

How do I rotate a Tetrimino?

Tap once to rotate the Tetrimino. (It will turn clockwise.)

What is a hard drop, and how can I do it?

A hard drop makes a Tetrimino instantly fall and lock into place at the bottom of the playfield. To hard drop a Tetrimino, swipe downward.

What is a hold swap, and how can I do it?

A hold swap helps you manage your Tetriminos to use them effectively. Swipe upward to move the current Tetrimino to the Hold Queue for later use or to swap the current Tetrimino with the one already in the Hold Queue.

What are the special items and how can I use them?

Clear lines that contain special items to trigger unique game-changing effects. There are three special items in the game: Shifter: Shifts blocks in the Matrix to the left, to the right or both, followed by a downward shift of blocks in the Matrix.
